The reason you can't let go of people is because, deep down, you still hope. You hope they'll come back, apologize, and make things right.
You believe you never meet anyone by accident, and it's hard to accept that everything you poured your soul into is now gone.
I know how much it hurts to let go when all you've ever known is to love and give. It's not your fault that they couldn't meet you where you were.
It's not your fault that your love couldn't heal what was broken in them. I hope you learn to stop blaming yourself for their shortcomings, for their inability to choose you, to see you, to stay.
I hope you realize that you deserved their best, not just their apologies, not just their excuses. And I hope, one day, you can look back and thank the universe, not for taking them away, but for making room for something, or someone, greater. Because the truth is, losing them doesn't mean you lost yourself.
It just means you're making space to rediscover who you are without the weight of their absence holding you down. You will heal. Not all at once, and maybe not in the way you expected, but piece by piece, day by day, you'll find that hope again not in them, but in yourself.
