Narcissists are mean, and really cruel at the end of a relationship because they don’t care anymore. They know you know who they really are behind the mask. The jig is up and there is no going back. They resent you for seeing the truth about them. They are delusional and can easily find ways to blame you for the demise in the relationship.
They can justify anything and everything they did to you. They are not feeling guilty about what they did to you. They have found a way to blame you and they are angry at you. They have to convince himself that you are not a loss, and they are better off without you. They have to believe this because the truth will hurt them and would not benefit them, nor does it fit into their delusional reality.
