That person who refused to discuss a future with you was not the one. That person who made you feel small so they could feel big was not the one. That person who didn’t celebrate your wins, was not the one. That person who said they loved you, but acted like they didn’t even like you was not the one. The person who rejected all your bids for connection was not the one. That person who made themselves into the victim when you brought up valid concerns, was not the one. That person who laughed at your passions, was not the one. That person you couldn’t be yourself around was not the one. That person who made you believe love hurts, was not the one.
